Planned Giving and
Bequests
The James R. McConnell Museum
relies on private support to build the museum, its collections, and to meet
the cost of its diverse services to the public. Donors to the Museum are
part of a long tradition of American philanthropy that has made
recreational, educational, and memorial endeavors such as this, for today
and future generations to enjoy. Donors also may receive significant tax
incentives or financial benefits. Methods of giving differ with respect to
what is given, how it is given, and the tax or financial planning benefits
of making the gift.
Bequests
A bequest to James R. McConnell Museum is not subject to federal or state
inheritance and estate taxes. The value of the bequest is deductible in
determining the taxable estate for estate tax purposes, and there is no
limit on the amount of deduction.

bequests, specific bequests of property and residual bequests. A will is
essential if you wish to make a bequest to James R. McConnell Museum and an
attorney should be consulted. The McConnell Museum will be glad work with
